2006

Hello All-

30 years is 30 years (give or take marginal differences in memories and remembrances). And what better way to honor the time than by organizing a get together. So exercise your bodies (and spirits) and make the effort to come to Delhi for the reunion of 27th Jan. And with FAMILIES. Hurry, both because in a few years time the spirit may be willing but the flesh will be weak and also because the capacity of the venue is 160 persons. A Very Happy New Year!!!

Responsible father...yes! But grown up ?? Only in age!
It was real nice to see Shashi.
Got word from Mr. Bharadwaj...he's a grandfather again. His son, Parag, a.k.a. "Mitu" is proud father of Keshav...now 10 days young. Congrats!

Hi Guys !!!
Please pass this info to all you know. I am trying to get through to everyone's e-mail too.

The Get-together of ISKAA is being held at the Officers Club at Kasturba Gandhi Marg adjacent to MEA Hostel. It will be on 27th January 2007 evening and in the Lawns of the Club (Which is a saturday after Republic Day - a long weekend. All other places are already booked.) We have confirmed this booking on 10.12.2006.

The arrangements involve Tents, Chairs, Lights, Food (Fixed Menu option), music, Coal "angeethis" etc. We have worked out an incredible figure of Rs. 350.00 per head for all this. However the Booze is more reasonable than if we buy our own stocks. So we all shall pay at the counter for our individual drinks.

This has been done through Manoj Shrivastava who has been kind enough to book the venue and all its facilities though his membership card. If any of you can do better than this please do not hesitate to contact me or Manoj Shrivastava for this and we ll try and change the bookings accordingly.

Please send in your amounts @ Rs. 350.00 per head and also indicate how many Vegitarians / Non Vegitarians you are bringing. You may send the money by cheque (if Local Delhi) or DD in my name i.e. "Ajay Prasad" payable at New Delhi and also confirm your date with ISKAA on 27.01.2007. Your amounts should reach me on or before 10th January 2007.

Please do start your bookings now. I already have a long list of confirmations from me, Vijay, Mini, Sandeep Shastri, Fehmi Rizwan, Manoj Shrivastava, Sanjeev Saxena, Jyoti Narula, Alka Saxena, Lalit Saxena etc.

See yah !!!!!!!!!

Hi Sanjeev,
Finally a CA ISK'ite! Thanks for your post. Can you please help me jog my memory - you played tennis, right? I was 2-3 years your junior with Kavery Subbaiah, Surinder Popli, Kataria, Rajeev Bhasin, Anurag Wadhera, Naveen Goswami..others.
I live in the bay area (Cupertino) and would like to sync up at your convenience - you do sound to be a very busy man with your startup.
Good Luck and Bye for now.

Dear All

Fehmi & Vijay's family were in Delhi and we met at Manoj Shrivastava's place
for a great Dinner on 1st October 2006. A wonderful evening with a wonderful
host as it turned out. The kids hit it off at once ... besides us ofcourse.
Vijay has taken a few shots there, after dinner. Hope he sends them soon.

I have been asked to convey to all ISKAA guys that we are planning the Big
Bash Dinner in Delhi for January 27th 2007. You have a good amount of time
in hand and 27th happens to be a Saturday preceded by our Republic day 26th
January and followed by a Sunday. So this takes care of all those within
India.

All of you outside of India and planning a trip to India may kindly tell us
about their plans to accommodate with this. It is important for us to know
and suggestions of any kind are welcome. We are planning the Officer's Mess
at Kasturba Gandhi Marg as the venue and will have to give them a final head
count at least 2 months in advance.

Hey !!!! Its with families for all of us.

Please send in your observations / suggestions / comments / approvals ASAP
into my e-mail so that we may plan further... tims's short. Others who can
be contacted are Vijay Prasad, Fehmi Rizwan, Jyoti Narula & Manoj
Shrivastava.

Wish us luck that this plan hits the charts as we had imagined.

Love All !!!!!

Found this on the web...

Lesson to be learned from typing the wrong email address:

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel plans. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My loving wife

Subject: I've arrived Date: April 6, 2006

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

P.S. sure is freaking hot down here!!!!!

Dear All

Mini & I met Dr. Sandeep Shastri in Delhi on Saturday 26th. We spent a
wonderful evening recapping and exchanging notes. The same time Alka Saxena
reached Vijay's place in Jaipur and we had a long chat on the phone.

There was talk of a get-together on 24th September but it seems Vijay is
having to change his dates of coming to Delhi due to vacation dates being
shifted. Shall inform plans later but as of now the 24th Plan is off.

Wishing all our Teachers a wonderful Teacher's Day on 5th. It is needless to
mention that we owe our present & future to them and will always remember
them... wherever we are.

Dear Manoj,

When I left India on 30th April for L.A, I did not even dream to have such a fabulous, fantastic and fruitful trip to USA.

Though it was not my first trip to USA but one of my best as I could see how my old students are doing in their lives and professionally. It would be difficult for you to understand how a teacher feels when he/she sees well placed students. A few weeks ago, some one called me in my office at Hyderabad saying- Sir Do you remember anyone called Sandeep? I said I know only one sandeep who was my student in Kabul. I have taught many Sandeeps and this Sandeep also might have been taught by many RK/Kusum Bharadwaj but the bond which made him call and made me to say what I said is forever.

During this visit we met or interacted with many- Manoj & Sandeep Talwar, Sandeep Shastri, Rajiv Angal, Kawal Kapoor, Pukhraj Kapoor, Vijay Suri, Hyder & Khalid Aziz are few to name. We could talk to Mini, Ajay, Tariq Aziz and Kavery Subhia

The pivot role is being played by Manoj Talwar who has helped us to contact each other by this website.

A teacher gets a great joy when he sees his students and doing extremely well professionally and with family. Each one has an extremely good rappu with their wife and children...

My children too (Parag and shiny ) are doing very well as associated director of palliative care of Cedars-Sinai medical center and my daughter was awarded a Phd degree by UCLA on Monday 11th June 2006.

Mrs. Bharadwaj joins me in wishing you all the best and may god bless all of you.

Please keep in touch.

Regards,

Bharadwaj

Time flew simply catching up with the 29 years since we last met. Sir and Madam are pretty much the same - same enthusiasm and charm as before. Will cherish those moments - some captured in pictures I will send to Manoj shortly.

Divya, Kiran, Mrs. and Mr. Bharadwaj, Rajeev, Neeti and Pooja.

And of-course, Manoj, please add this to the growing list of memorable events your iskaa.org site has helped create.

Came across the following while surfing...

You Know You're Getting Older When . . .

Your potted plants stay alive.

Having sex in a twin-sized bed is absurd.

You keep more food than beer in the fridge.

6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to sleep.

You hear your favorite song on the elevator at work.

You carry an umbrella.

You watch the Weather Channel.

Your friends marry and divorce instead of hook-up and break-up.

You go from 130 days of vacation time to 7.

Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up".

You're the one calling the police because those damn kids next door don't know how to turn down the stereo.

Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.

You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.

Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.

You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonalds.

Sleeping on the couch is a no-no.

You no longer take naps from noon to 6 p.m.

Dinner and a movie --- the whole date instead of the beginning of one.

MTV News is no longer your primary source for information.

You go to the drugstore for Ibuprofen and antacids, not condoms and pregnancy test kits.

A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff".

You actually eat breakfast foods at breakfast time.

Grocery lists are longer than macaroni & cheese, diet Pepsi and Ho-Ho's

"I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going to drink that much again".

Over 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.

You don't get liquored up at home, to save money, before going to a bar.

Hi everybody

Two days ago ( Thursay March 16) Mr Bharadwaj (our Physics teacher) and Mrs Kusum Bharadwaj ( Our Hindi Teacher) were in Bangalore and met me and spent some time with my family. We connected and spoke to many ISKians that night - Mini, Kavery, Vijay Prasad, Tariq, Joy. It was nice meeting them and recalling old days. They have been to our website and been in touch with some of us individually. I will try to put some of the snaps we took. Hey Vijay where are the pics from your India trip. We had a great evening at home.

Hello Delhi ISKites:
Will be in Delhi from March 19-29 and would love to hook up with any/all that are around. Last year same time had spoken to Ajay Prasad by phone but couldn't do better. Would be fun to get together for an evening of nostalgia!

Here' the latest on my trip to India...

Got an email from Ajay Prasad over the weekend with his phone #'s. Called him but he did not pick up. Fortunately, he had sent Mini's number also. I called her and had a lively conversation with her. She's still soooo full of energy!! Found out from here that Ajay is sick with some virus. Hope you feel better by next week.

Mini has volunteered to arrange a get together on the evening of 30th January. The location had not been decided. I hope all you guys in Delhi can make it. If you are not in Delhi you are still invited...

I look forward to seeing you all...

Vijay

Hello Everyone!! Happy New Year. Hope the new year brings joy and happiness to all. Just finalized my trip to India later
this month. I will be in India for two weeks. I arrive in Delhi on Sunday, 29th of Jan. Spend a couple of days there
and then go to Bangalore. From there I will be going to Hyderabad and Pune.
I will be in India till the 13th. of February. And then I'm gone..

So the trick is to meet as many people as possible and still take care of work!
In Bangalore I hope to meet Shastri Ji. Mini lives in Delhi. Mr. Arora in NOIDA? Dhanmanjari is in Pune.
Who else is in these cities.? Expect emails from me so I can figure out where people are located. Or write to me.

Look forward to seeing many of you...
